How do we judge the character of others?
What is it based on?
In Dr. King's "I Have A Dream" speech, he said, "
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
It's early in our new year, 2024, what would it be like if we took some time to think about how we judge others?
Would we take into consideration how we were judged?
Was the judgement of others based on the content of our character or was it based on our color? Was the judgement based on something superficial such as the style of clothing we wore, our circumstances or environment?
In the next weeks, Girls and Boys of Character will discuss the importance of character with our mentees.
Some of our discussions and exercises will include:
- "Judgement Calls"- in this powerful lesson the mentees will be challenged to discover how they judge themselves and how they judge others.
- "What Is Character? - We will discuss what makes up our character?
- We will also discuss topics such as decency and morals.
In our future blogs, we will share with you some high lights of our discussions.
Please comment below with your email address with the request to be added to our email list.
And we challenge you to think about your character.
